Self Development – Learning more about your cancer.

One of our members (Len Hiley) has been spending some time studying more about his cancer to increase his knowledge in general about what causes the disease and what potential treatments are available and how they work.

Len said ” Back in pandemic times I got into studying some free short courses from various institutions worldwide.   It is on a website called Future Learn.

Inspired by a story on our recent zoom meeting, I just had a look to see what they have on cancer.  There are currently 17 courses on offer.  They are free, though they will offer you an upgrade which gives you certificates and extra time to complete the course.  Most of the courses take 2 – 4 hours a week and 2-6 weeks, so it is not too taxing.  One of the courses is about prostate cancer screening”.

Worth a look I guess if you want to increase your knowledge about cancer in general and it might also give you a list of questions to ask your oncologist!
